Prof. Manjit Dosanjh

Senior Advisor for Medical Application at CERN, the particle physics laboratory in Feneva, Switzerland and a visiting professor.

Manjit Dosanjh is the former senior advisor for medical applications at CERN and a Visiting Professor at the University of Oxford as well as the Project Leader of STELLA (Smart Technologies to Extend Lives with Linear Accelerators) for ICEC (International Cancer Expert Corps). She has coordinated the ENLIGHT network since 2006.

She holds a PhD in Biochemical Engineering from the UK and is involved in the fields of cancer and medical applications of physics spanning more than 30 years, during which she has held positions in various academic and research institutions in Europe and the U.S., including the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), LBNL, University of California, the European Commission Joint Research Centre in Italy.
She has worked with NGOs for health and STEM and Committee on Status of Women in Geneva for over 20 years with UN-Geneva. She is on the board of directors for ICEC based in Washington DC, and is actively involved in addressing the lack of access to cancer treatment in LMICs.

Prof. Jürgen Debus

Managing Director, NCT Heidelberg. Medical Director for the Department of Radiation Oncology and Radiation Therapy at Heidelberg University Hospital

Prof. Dr. Dr. Jürgen Debus is a medical doctor and holds a PhD in physics. Since 2003 he is full professor and chairman of the department of Radiation Oncology at the Heidelberg University Hospital. Since 2009 he is one of the directors of National Centre of Tumor Diseases (NCT) Heidelberg and became vice medical director of Heidelberg University hospital in 2022.

Prof. Debus did pioneering work in modern conformal high precision radiotherapy and significantly contributed to development of IMRT, stereotactic techniques and particle therapy. In co-operation with Gesellschaft für Schwerionenforschung (GSI) he introduced carbon ion therapy in Germany that led to the foundation of the Heidelberg Ion beam Therapy center (HIT) in 2009. Since then, he is medical and executive director of the HIT. 

The scientific activities of Prof. Debus are focused on the optimization and individualization of radiation therapy, especially research and development of ion beam therapy and image guided adaptive radiotherapy with photons and ions.

Prof. Vincenzo Valentini

Prof. Vincenzo Valentini is Full Professor of Radiation Oncology at the School of Medicine of the Università Cattolica S.Cuore of Rome and Chair of Department of Radiology, Radiation Oncology and Hematology at Policlinico Universitario A.Gemelli -IRCCS of Rome.

Prof. Vincenzo Valentini is Full Professor of Radiation Oncology at the School of Medicine of the Università Cattolica S.Cuore of Rome and Chair of Department of Radiology, Radiation Oncology and Hematology at Policlinico Universitario A.Gemelli -IRCCS of Rome.
He is Scientific Deputy Director of Policlinico Universitario A.Gemelli IRCCS and Chair of Real Word Data and Radiomics laboratories.
He is author of more than 550 publications in peer-reviewed journal and many review articles as well as book chapters. He is member of the Editorial Board of different Radiotherapy and Oncology Journals.
He was President of ESTRO in 2011-2014.
